Sports Massage
Our goal as Here’s to Your Health Sports Massage Therapists is to help athletes develop strong, healthy, balanced muscles that are not prone to injury, and if injured heal quickly.
We work out our client’s soft tissue by applying myofascial, PNF, and various other massage techniques to muscle groups while athletes perform functional ROM movements that are specific to their sport. The athlete is an active participant for over 60% of their massage. As a result, muscles are contracting as the therapist works to breakup any adhesions creating strong, healthy muscle.
Our time tested techniques allow for greater ROM and joint mobility without weakening the muscles that support them.
Unlike traditional sports therapy, our methods lead to overall balance, greater performance and a quicker recovery time for injured areas:
Traditional Sports Massage:
*Is Passive
*May lead to injury
*Does not quickly aid in the recovery of injured muscles
NPT Sports Massage:
*Is Active
*Increases muscle efficiency and performance
*Creates neuromuscular balance
*Quickly and efficiently aids in the recovery of injured muscles
*Works in conjunction with the Attack Athletics Training and Physical Therapy Program.
As NPT Sports Massage Therapists we practice several kinetic laws that govern our methods. These laws are not theory. They are the backbone of our practice, and when understood properly, their application produces amazing results!
In Summary:
Shortened Muscles due to imbalance and inflexibility are inefficient and weak.
Lengthened Muscles due to imbalance and over stretching are inefficient and weak.
Balanced Muscles that are neither too short nor too long are extremely efficient, are at their peak of performance, and recover from injuries quickly.
This is the goal of Here’s to Your Health massage therapists. . .
balanced,
strong,
efficient,
muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments for overall
optimal athletic performance and quick recoveries.
