Deep Tissue
The America Massage Therapy Association defines Deep Tissue Massage as a technique that releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on contracted areas, either following or going across the grains of muscles, tendons and fascia.
Deep Tissue techniques are used often in Clinical Massage and Relaxation massage sessions, depending on the client’s tolerance for deeper work. Deep Tissue techniques will only be administered on clients who agree to this type of work.
