Whiplash
A whiplash is an acceleration-deceleration injury to the head and neck. Symptoms include but are not limited to:
- No pain immediately following injury
- Pain develops gradually over 24 to 48 hours
- Heat, swelling and muscle spasms develop over time
- Tenderness at injury site
- Possible digestive tract upset, respiratory difficulties and shortness of breath
- Deafness, dizziness, headache, and memory loss
