Whiplash

A whiplash is an acceleration-deceleration injury to the head and neck. Symptoms include but are not limited to:

  • No pain immediately following injury
  • Pain develops gradually over 24 to 48 hours
  • Heat, swelling and muscle spasms develop over time
  • Tenderness at injury site
  • Possible digestive tract upset, respiratory difficulties and shortness of breath
  • Deafness, dizziness, headache, and memory loss
