Tennis Elbow (Tendinitis)
Tennis Elbow (tendinitis of the medial ligaments of the arm) is tendon inflammation due to overloading of muscle. Tendinitis may develop into a tendinosis with continued tearing and inadequate care.
The term Tendinosis describes degenerative changes occuring with chronic overuse of tendon injuries. Basically the normal formation of the tissues have been altered, and due to the fact that they are filled with nerve endings, pain occurs.
Symptions include but are not limited to:
Grade 1: Pain after activity only
Grade 2: Pain at beginning of activity which disappears during activity then returns after activity
Grade 3: Pain at beginning of activity, during activity and after activity. Pain may restrict activity
Grade 4: Pain with all activities of daily living. Pain continues to get worse
