Plantar Fascitis
Plantar fascitis is an overuse condition resulting in inflammation of the plantar fascia. Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of foot pain in athletes.
Symptoms include but are not limited to:
- Unilateral or bilateral.
- Pain has an initial slow onset, with no history of injury or trauma.
- Pain occurs with the first few steps after non-weight bearing - for example when getting out of bed in the morning or after periods of sitting. Pain lessens after 30 to 40 minutes of activity, then intensifies again two or three hours later with continued activity. It is usually relieved by rest.
